10.8.11: Calling grandma

The boys got bored and decided to call grandma in Melaka. I told them the number and E is pressed the numbers on the telephone. A good way for him to learn and revise his number recognition.

4.8.11: Watercolour painting in Penang

I sat at the Tanjung Bungah beach and drew the landscape in pencil. When the sun came out, it was too hot to sit at the beach, so I decided to paint in the hotel. However, my art materials got hijacked by the boys.

5.8.11: Fort Cornwallis Penang

We paid a visit to Fort Cornwallis in Penang. I parked the car by the roadside. They used parking meters over here. Entrance fees: RM2 per adult. The boys got in free.

4.8.11: Tanjung Bungah Beach Penang

Early in the morning and in the evening, we went to the private beach that was attached to Corpthorne Orchid Hotel in Tanjung Bungah. It got hot quite early there as there wasn't much shade.

There were some small crabs scuttling in and out of their holes. The boys observed that the crab walked sideways.

4.8.11: Penang Youth Park playground

In the morning, we went to the Penang Youth Park playground area. Penang Youth Park is also known as the Penang Municipal Park and it is located near to the Penang Botanical Gardens. It was raining in the night and the place was damp when we arrived.

It was a nice place in nature and we could hear the sound of insects. It reminded me of the Lake Gardens (Taman Tasik Perdana) in KL, except that this playground here was smaller. I didn't have the time to check out the water play area, and will have to do that some other time.

3.8.11: Visit to Penang

After Ipoh, we headed for Penang. We stayed at Corpthorne Orchid Hotel. It was the Ramadhan month and there were very few people staying at the hotel. The hotel had its own private beach. We stayed there for 2 nights.
