11.12.11 - Cycling at Kiara Park

The boys went cycling at Kiara Park again. E brought along his "lunch box" storage case to collect seeds and stuff. S went through the whole circuit, but E didn't and took a short cut across the stream.

We rested awhile at a bench, while the boys went to collect crescent shaped leaves. They said it looked like the moon. 

3.12.11 - Cycling @ Lembah Kiara Recreational Park

In the morning, we brought the boys cycling at Lembah Kiara Recreational Park in TTDI. Cycling, swimming and running are currently their physical exercises, and hubby and I are trying to get encourage them to do these activities more often to build up their physical stamina and resiliency. We don't want them to grow up wanting to be in an air-conditioned room and disliking being in the sun.

I like this place as it is a good place to cycle and just by the forest. We could hear the insects chirping too.

E completed a full round of the area. 

The boys collected these seeds. I don't know what they are.  E always thinks that seeds, pinecones and flowers are gifts from the trees. He asked, "Mummy, why the trees always give me presents?" How nice if children could be easily fulfilled by these treasures from nature. 

28.11.11 - Cycling at Kepong Metropolitan Park

We wanted to go cycling at Taman Botani Kepong, but was surprised when we were stopped by the security guards there who said that we were not allowed to cycle there. It was strange, as the last time I went there in April this year, I saw several cyclists there. It was also ironical that bicycles are not allowed in whereas cars and motorcycles can be allowed in. I even saw a tractor there the last time. It was also a shame, as it is a nice place in nature but we are not allowed to cycle there. So much for encouraging Malaysians to exercise.

So, we packed off and headed for Kepong Metropolitan Park instead. This time, there were many parking spaces and quite a number of people who wearing inline skates. There were several children cycling too. Fortunately there was a large place near the fountain where the children could cycle, in a large circle. The tarred road was not suitable because cars and motorcycles still passed by there.

After cycling, the boys went to the playground. This time, S is very confident and went playing whereas E was a little more reticent and it took some time for him to warm up and play at the playground. The last time we were here in February, S was still afraid to play at the playground whenever there are other children around. Previously, he was hesitant to climb this ladder, now he can climb it very fast (see video). Thank goodness his earlier hesitancy was just a passing phase and he has outgrown that phase. Looks like E is now at that phase.

10.11.11 - Activities we did in Trolak

We were back at Felda Residence Trolak again for 2 nights. I like this place because it has a lot of greenery and we could collect pine cones and do various nature activities here.

10.11.11 - Activities we did in Trolak

We were back at Felda Residence Trolak again for 2 nights. I like this place because it has a lot of greenery and we could collect pine cones and do various nature activities here.

3.10.11 - Cycling @ Kiara Park TTDI

A day earlier, we bought a new bicycle for S as he had outgrown the earlier one. In the morning, I brought them to Kiara Park to cycle. It was a suitable place for cycling as cars were not allowed inside.

I got the kids a bicycle in May. It was a 14" bicycle with inflatable tyres. I didn't like those non-inflatable tyres as I don't think they can last long. My intention was for S to learn how to cycle. He can already pedal a tricycle, so I felt that I should encourage him to do some exercise by cycling.

I was surprised when his younger brother E, who's just turned 2 years 1 month, was able to ride a bicycle. He can't pedal in full circle, but he will use his legs to "pump" the pedal, and he can move around on the bicycle. Below are pictures of E on the bicycle.
