I bought a family package of 4 tickets at RM120 (weekend price) to the Sticks, Stones and Broken Bones Puppet Show Comedy by Jeff Actem @ Mr Bunk from Montreal Canada. It was a non-verbal, shadow play of puppets, which were projected onto the screen. It was held at PJLA theatre at Jaya One in PJ. The theatre was quite cold. S found the music too loud and covered his ears. No photography was allowed during the performance.
It was fascinating to watch puppet show. It was the first time I ever saw anything like it. I liked the one where the puppet shadow was doing karate with a man from the audience. S liked the one where the man rode the horse, then the horse rode the man. Hilarious! He also did puppet yoga, in which he lay down and even used his legs and hands to move the puppets, portraying the shadows playing chess. Not an easy feat. I wonder how he got the idea to do such shadow play. Methinks he must have spent much of his time in the darkness with a candle in order to develop such inspiration.
Waiting for the show to start |
