28.5.11: Palawan Beach, Sentosa

It started raining when we arrived in Singapore, so we waited until the rain stopped first before going over to Sentosa. We thought of going to Sentosa as it has been a long while since I last visited Sentosa. The last time I went to Sentosa Island was 22 years ago, and I couldn't remember anything except watching the musical fountain at night and lining up in a crowd to get aboard a ferry. Good thing I brought along my GPS to lead the way.

When we went to Sentosa, we mistakenly drove through the Resorts World car park, took a wrong turn, and drove over the bridge joining Sentosa to Singapore, and headed back into the city. We made a U-turn back again into Sentosa and ended up at Palawan Beach.

There were some fighter jets flying overhead as it was the Republic of Singapore Air Forc's (RSAF ) open day weekend at their Paya Lebar Airbase.

The boys enjoyed playing with sand and didn't want to leave that area.
At the hanging bridge
We crossed the hanging bridge and now were at the southernmost point of continental Asia.

S enthusiastically climbed up this tower and went up ahead of the rest of us.

We could see many boats and vessels nearby

There a sandcastle making workshop there on Saturdays. However, no one joined in and only the 2 sculptors were at work.
Tram
Some people got around using this. Cool! I wonder how it works.

We went to the Palawan Amphitheatre to watch the Macaque performance. One of the macaques was on heat, as indicated by her red bum. Another macaque could cycle a tricycle. The presenters were funny and we found the show entertaining.

I wanted to go and see the dolphins and Underwater World but the boys were tired and wanted to go back. It was quite hot by then, as the some had come up, and walking in the heat makes everyone more tired than usual. I was tired too, having only 4 hours of sleep the night before. Hence, we went back to rest.
