Info about the Royal Malaysian Navy Museum
The Museum of the Royal Malaysian Navy Museum is located in front of the Maritime Museum (The Flora de La Mar). The Royal Malaysian Navy Museum was previously located at the Royal Malaysian Naval Base at Lumut in Perak. It was relocated in Melaka to take advantage of the large numbers of tourists, both foreign and local who throng to Melaka. The naval Museum in Melaka was opened to the public on October 28 1995.
Objective
- To highlight the role of the Royal Malaysian Navy in the affairs of the nation.
- To provide the public information on naval ships and military hardware deployed on these ships.
- To document and preserve the history of the Royal Malaysian Navy.
Notes
The Royal Malaysian Museum exhibits photographs of admirals, medals of honour, various ranks in the naval command, the evolution of naval uniforms, naval weapons, communication equipment, navigation symbols, training programmes etc.

Interestingly, there was a helicopter inside, on the lower ground.
We walked to the lower floor and went outside and there was a decommissioned Royal Malaysian Navy Patrol Boat on display outside.
