22.4.11: Wat Chedi Luang

After lunch, we dropped by Wat Chedi Luang. It means "temple of the big stupa". It seems construction of the temple started in the 14th century and certain parts collapsed due to an earthquake. More info can be found in wikipedia here:

There current grounds have 3 temples: Wat Chedi Luang, Wat Ho Tham and Wat Sukmin

The boys like the tuk-tuk vehicle

While travelling in the van, the boys occupied themselves by drawing on their sketch pads
After that, we went to our hotel where were were to stay for the next 4 nights - Suriwongse Hotel. It will be rebranded to Movenpick Suriwongse in the middle of this year. I had booked 2 rooms, which were upgraded into a family suite. The positive aspect about this hotel were that the rooms were large. It was actually 2 deluxe rooms with an adjoining door. We rested for 3 hours, then at 6 pm, got ready to visit the Chiang Mai Night Safari and have our dinner there.
