25.6.11: Sea World Jakarta

After TMII, I decided to visit Sea World Jakarta inside Taman Impian Jaya Ancol. It was towards the north of Jakarta. We had to pay entrance fee for the car at the gate, as well as each person inside the car.
Entrance fees were: Rp70,000 (Around RM25) per person.
The place was packed. There were many people there, comprising of school children and adults. It seemed as though people in Jakarta were very well to do, to be able to bring their family to these places, such as Kidzania and Ancol, and the entrance rates weren't what would be considered cheap.

I saw a dugong but wassn't in time to catch a photo of it and it swam away.

We were fortunate that we were able to catch the shark show. A man in a cage was lowered into the large tank to swim with the sharks.

The diver was cycling among the sharks.

There was also a touch pool. The children were allowed to touch the creatures in the touch pool. I personally felt that it wouldn't be too good for the animals, what with so many hands in the pool, contaminating the pool water.

Manta ray
This is the first time I've ever seen a real star fish.
These were at the resource centre upstairs.
Aquarium tunnel. Not for claustrophobic people. We stood on the moving  'floor', with hardly any space to breathe. It was that packed.

You can even dive with the fishes, for a fee.
